About

Hi, I am Kimberly!

I started painting when I was 10. Around that same age, I also started disliking everything I painted. That, I know now, is imposter syndrome, a voice lurking in my mind’s hallways always reminding me, 'You're no artist; you just draw.'

I worked with acrylics for years until I stumbled upon gouache, a discovery that transformed my artistic perspective.

The brushstroke became smoother, and expressing ideas felt more effortless.

Today, I mix gouache with a few other mediums like ink, watercolors, markers, and pencils. My artistic expression leans towards surrealism, featuring bright and colorful depictions of figurative subjects, which embody an inspiring narrative—tackling the inspiration towards authenticity and mental health through the mediums of paint, imagination, and storytelling.

Just recently, I started showing my work. Though, I am still working on calling myself an artist.
